National Insurance accounts forms 21% of UK fiscal revenues and represents a significant operational cost for employers. In this session, consideration is given to the impact of national insurance on small and medium sized employers and how this can be minimised.

The exact content depends on the announcements in the October 2025 Budget, as well as any other changes in statutory rules, case law and HMRC Guidance. However, the following areas will be covered:

  • Libility to national insurance, when it arises, and how it is calculated
  • Making the most of exemptions and allowances
  • Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
  • Reporting and payment obligations relating to national insurance, including year-end procedures for 2025-26
  • Changes in employer obligations relating to NIC for 2026/27 and beyond
